Paradise Organics, Paradise, PA: 18 Miles

On 5 acres of lush, green farmland in Paradise, Pennsylvania, work begins at sunrise for Chris Petersheim, owner of Paradise Organics.

“Since I was a child I’ve had an interest in gardening and always wanted to be vegetable farmer. I grew up helping on my uncle’s farm – growing alfalfa and corn.”

Chris founded Paradise Organics in 1980 and continues to live and work on the farm with his family. The farm has been organic since day one. In the early days, he sold his produce at a roadside stand. By the 1990’s, Chris had made many connections with other organic growers, and began distributing produce from other farms, in addition to growing his own crops. In 1997, he and a group of local farmers founded Pennsylvania Certified Organic (PCO), an organization whose goal is “to ensure the integrity of organic products and produce education, inspection, and certification services that meet the needs of our members”.

Chris’s lifelong passion for farming and growing organic produce shows through in his work at Paradise Organics. All of Paradise Organics’ crops are Certified Organic, grown without the use of pesticides.

Kimberton Whole Foods has worked with Paradise Organics for over 10 years. We are proud to have a longstanding relationship with a farmer so dedicated to conscious and responsible growing methods. We always look forward to the next arrival from the farm! Some of our favorites are their bagged salad greens, lettuces, beets, kale, chard, collards, cabbage, scallions, squash, cilantro, and parsley.
