Try making green smoothies at home. It’s our go to for the freshest and fastest option to up our daily fruit and vegetable intake. There are no rules when making your green smoothie. Start out simple with…liquid, greens and fruit. At the Kimberton Café, Dave uses a smoothie base and throws in an additional ingredient or two for variety.
- 1 Cup water or other liquid
- 1 Cup tightly packed Organic Dark leafy greens (such as spinach or kale)
- 1 Organic Apple
- 1 Cup Organic Frozen Fruit
Add some live probiotics and brighten the color with the addition of ½ cup of Seven Stars Farm Yogurt. Or try frozen berries, honey, ginger, bee pollen, chia seeds, or omega fatty acids…don’t be afraid to get creative!
Add ingredients in order listed, start by blending slowly, and gradually increase blending speed. If you are looking to thicken up your smoothie, just add ice.
