Our weekly Real Meal offers you a healthy dinner idea that you can get on the table quickly, using our favorite organic and all-natural products. This week’s inspiration will satisfy a variety of diets, while also being a light and low-calorie meal: Paleo and Vegan Jackfruit Tacos are the perfect crowd-pleaser. Have these on your table in just 3 steps!
- Thinly slice an onion, then saute in a bit of oil in a saute pan over medium-high heat. Add 3-4 cloves of minced garlic, and stir until fragrant. Add (drained and shredded) jackfruit and season liberally with cumin and chili powder, until flavored to your liking. Add your favorite hot sauce or chopped jalapenos, if desired.
- Prepare toppings: Slice an avocado, chop a handful of cilantro, shred 1/4 cabbage. (slice 1-2 limes for squeezing!)
- Heat Siete Grain-Free tortillas by warming a griddle or cast-iron pan on medium-high heat until the surface is hot: Place the (thawed) tortilla on the hot surface, quickly turn it when it becomes warm and slightly translucent, let it sit on the other side for a similar amount of time, then remove. Fill with jackfruit, add toppings, and serve with limes!
