Real Meals: Rotini with Tuna, Lemon, and Olives

This week’s inspiration is a bright and lemony pasta entrée: Rotini with Tuna, Lemon, and Olives. (Feel free to substitute any shape pasta that you like!)

Rotini with Tuna Kimberton Whole Foods


  1. In a large bowl, flake 2 (5oz) cans of Wild Planet Albacore Wild Tuna (and juices) into bite-sized pieces.
  2. Cook 1/2 lb of pasta according to package directions, drain.
  3. Meanwhile, heat 1/4 cup olive oil in a medium sauté pan over medium heat. Add 1 thinly sliced red onion and cook, stirring frequently, until tender and lightly browned. Stir in the zest of one lemon, plus 2 tsp lemon juice, 4 tsp minced garlic, 2 tsp capers, 12 kalamata olives, and tuna with juices. Heat through and season with salt and pepper to taste.
  4. Toss the tuna sauce with the hot cooked rotini and sprinkle with freshly chopped parsley. Optional: Serve with steamed broccoli.
