Our weekly Real Meal offers you a healthy dinner idea that you can get on the table quickly, using our favorite organic and all-natural products. This weekโs inspiration is a hearty comfort-food classic: Franks and Beans. The addition of sweet potatoes lends great flavor and nutrition. Have it on your table in just 3 steps!
- Heat oil in a large pot over medium-high heat. Add 1/2 diced onion and 2 slices diced bacon, and cook until browned, about 10 minutes.
- Stir in 2 14-oz cans white beans (drained and rinsed), 2 cups peeled and diced sweet potato, 6 hot dogs (sliced 1/4 inch thick), and 1 cup of barbecue sauce. Simmer gently, covered, for about 35 minutes, until sweet potatoes are tender.
- Uncover and simmer another 10 minutes to allow the sauce to thicken. Excellent served with a side of rice or your favorite KWF deli salad! (Cole Slaw pictured here.)
