Real Meals: Sauerkraut Patty Melt

Our weekly Real Meal offers you a healthy dinner idea that you can get on the table quickly, using our favorite organic and all-natural products. This week’s inspiration is twist on the classic Patty Melt – ours uses raw sauerkraut from Jacob’s Raw, which is brimming with live probiotics. We recommend using local, grass-fed beef patties from Weaver Valley Farms. Enjoy!

  1. Prepare Alexia frozen fries according to package directions.
  2. Heat a griddle or large, flat saute pan over medium-high heat. Cook burgers for 3-4 minutes on one side, then flip and top with a generous scoop of sauerkraut and a slice of Swiss cheese. Cook for another 3-4 minutes, until cheese is melted.
  3. Meanwhile, brush each side of your bread of choice with a small amount of olive oil and place in a second pan, or griddle, to toast. Top one piece of bread with a burger, then a generous dollop of Chipotle Ranch (or Thousand Island) dressing. Top with the second piece of bread and press gently.
  4. Remove from griddle, slice and serve with fries. Serve along with a nice big green salad, if you like!
